@katylady

Used to write for kids when granddaughter was young. Now mostly write (hopefully) humorous dialogues, poems, and short stories. I have been writing for around twenty-five years, so have tons of stories.

Currently working on: I am putting together a book of poems to submit for a contest, and I am still submitting to Cricket and Spider. Mostly I write just for the pleasure of it, and now, for this wonderful site!

How I Got Here

I have been writing since college, off and on when I had time. Began writing stories and poems for children. When granddaughter was no longer a child I began writing for adults, mostly trying to capture the humorous side of things. I "met" Rachelle Allen on another writing site and she told me about starting Collectively Write, which I was delighted to join and am enjoying immensely.

What I've Done

I've had a few stories and poems published in Cricket and Spider magazines, also Highlights for Children, and a book, Summer Shorts, by a collection of writers. Later I published a mid grade book, The worst Five Months Ever. I write every day. Love it.

A Little More About Me

I love to peruse the shelves at my library for interesting books, not by famous authors so much as intriguing plots--of course the title grabs me first. I just finished a book, titled, The Plot by Jean Hanff Korelitz, who I was not familiar with. Talk about a plot!!!! Loaned it to a friend and am renewing it for another friend. I would like to add that my favorite genre is humor, which I wish was a category on this site.
