IN A FLASH
Part of what makes being a co-pilot at the helm of CollectivelyWrites.com so fun is basking in the talents of the writers who have chosen to make this site their home. And never do those talents shine through more vividly than on the Challenge page! This week's offering, a Flash Fiction that directed entrants to write about being in the Autographed Books section of a used bookstore and happening upon an inscription that reads: "This is not joke. I have been kidnapped." Both entries, "Missing" and "There's Always A Clue," expertly captured the "mystery" aspect of that scenario, but one went further and bestowed the true "surprise" factor which is the calling card of the Flash Fiction genre. For that reason, I have chose "There's Always A Clue" as this week's Challenge winner. Congratulations to RACHEL GOSLING. This means, Rachel, that you are the judge for the next non-poetry Challenge, slated to begin today and close on July 12th. Great work. xoxo
