@heather

I was born and raised in Idaho, and writing has been part of my life since 9th grade. For a long time, it stayed tucked away in journals and files—never shared, just mine. That changed when I found a writing community and finally took the leap. What I found was real connection, honest feedback, and incredible talent. It showed me that writing isn’t about perfection—it’s about telling the truth and letting it be seen. I co-created Collectively Write because I believe writing should be judged on truth and talent—not status. It’s built to be transparent, not driven by memberships or money. Writing can be lonely. It doesn’t have to be.

How I Got Here

I fell in love with writing back in 9th grade, and honestly, I never grew out of it. It started as something simple, but it became a place I could actually think, feel, and make sense of things. I’ve always been an avid reader—drawn to stories that say the quiet things out loud. Writing became my way of doing the same. I don’t write because I have it all figured out. I write because I don’t. Because sometimes the truth shows up clearer on the page than it ever does in real life.

What I've Done

I’m early in my journey of sharing my work, but writing has been part of my life for years. Taking that first step showed me how powerful honest feedback and connection can be—and it’s part of what led me to help build this space.

A Little More About Me

I’m not here to be perfect. I’m here to be real—and to build a space where others can do the same. I believe the things we don’t say out loud are often the ones that matter most, and this is a place for those things.
