A flurry of wings

As the temperature drops, the birds return to feed.

A flurry of wings

a flurry of wings

birds cluster on full feeders

sensing wintry chills

busy beaks seek fare

feathered flocks gather, trembling,

 need igniting greed

The Words That Got to Me

Igniting speed *a fun euphemism for "motivation."

You are very creative with your haiku(s?) Lesser poets force the 5-7-5 to fit. Yours are never like that. They flow, and they're always artistic. Very well done! Xo

The Words That Got to Me

sensing wintry chills

Neat poem, Rachel. Expressive choice of words. And precious picture As we will be in the hundreds, today, "sensing winter chills" sounds heavenly!

I could highlight virtually every line as a little gem that captures the vivid picture you paint. Even the form itself contributes to the flurry and chaos at the feeder. I hope your little friends get good and fat to see them through the cold months ahead.
