This poem resulted from the prompt "Mrs. Mudford clicked her teeth." At the same time I was reading the trilogy by Kent Nerburn which begins with Neither Wolf Nor Dog. Also I have since my teenage years been writing about indigenous peoples particularly those of North America.
FIRST SIGNS
A double tetractys. This poetic form has 10 lines which follow a strict syllable count of 1,2,3,4,10,10,4,3,2,1 such that it hopefully takes on a diamond shape.

This is an example of a concrete poem. The words are mine. The shape is thanks to my daughter. Keith Altham was a music journalist who wrote for Melody Maker and Sounds. The quotes are all from Jimmy Hendrix who was quite the philosopher. Just in case you cannot read the words in the shape I include the poem.
