Effervescent!

You reap the form you sow

Rachelle AllenJune 17, 202617 views
Effervescent!

Scintillating syllables!

Expressive to the max!

Every word that's spoken,

An enthusiastic blast!

Superlatives! Exuberance!

Positivity!

Contagious and addictive, too!

Complete, unbridled glee!

Prosecco, but in human form!

Glittered, sparkling fun!

Original! One of a kind!

Cannot be outdone!

But then there is the darker side

that is ferocity:

Biting, vicious, visceral

Intense, relentlessly.

For every virtue that we see,

A vice can lurk below

that matches the intensity -

A deadly undertow.

Both are true, authentic sides

of any person's soul.

But which one that's revealed to you

depends upon your role.

The Words That Got to Me

"Prosecco, but in human form!" Perfection.

I love the way 2 words bring two completely different ways of looking at the world. One word became a person. The other became a warning. And both are equally valid, saying as much about the writer as they do about the word. I love this poem as it screams the word from the rooftops. We all know at least one person described in your poem, and the use of short lines, exclamation marks and the very rhythm are in themselves an embodiment of Effervesence.
