My True Mom

It has nothing to do with Biology

My True Mom

It's true I did not come from her

But we share identical hearts.

That's because her original one was so enormous

That she could implant countless fragments from it

Directly beneath my solar plexis

And then nurture them to germinate

into an entity

as large

and kind

and compassionate

as her original one -

the one that found me

in need of love

and guidance

and support

and light

and warmth.

She stayed close

and provided it all.

Not like charity

or pity,

But like a

True Mom.

One who finds joy in watching someone blossom

and doesn't want to miss a moment of it.

She bestowed in me

exactly what

I needed

So that I could pass her magic on forever.

The Words That Got to Me

She stayed close and provided it all. Not like charity or pity, But like a True Mom. Beautifully expressed - true and simple.

What a lovely tribute to the fantastic woman who loved and nurtured you. I can see she passed her magic onto you - it's in all your acts and words of generosity and positivity. A beautiful poem, Rachelle.
