Six Frights

My corpse just moved.
I didn’t.

─────── ☠ ───────

Mum called me upstairs.
We cremated her yesterday.

─────── ☠ ───────

The mirror blinked.
I was still staring.

─────── ☠ ───────

Something under my bed whispered, “Dad?”

─────── ☠ ───────

Everyone froze.
The shadow moved.

─────── ☠ ───────

I woke alone.
Someone whispered, “Shh, pretend I’m not here.”

The Words That Got to Me

The mirror blinked I was still staring This was my favourite fright - just enough to make us feel uneasy.

Suggestions / Possible Tweaks

The shadow laughed - this didn’t feel scary to me. Maybe it could have grown, disappeared or swept across their terrified faces.

An interesting concept here. These felt like intriguing notes for a whole range of new stories. I’m wondering if you will develop them further.

I do have plans 😉 I agree about the shadow; it was the one I was least happy with. I have amended it.

Ah yes: I like it!

Suggestions / Possible Tweaks

These should be the opening sentences to a six-pack compilation of ghost stories!!

These are WAY too good to waste in this format!!
